There are several ways to cleanse your body through different techniques. Detoxing your body can be an important element to better health. Detoxification may seem like an “alternative” health thing done by a homeopathic healer, however, it has certainly been “mainstream” for many years.
Fasting or starvation is used an effective way to rid the body of harmful substances and has been used for centuries. Certainly, those who use the process of starvation to rid the body of toxins claim that “fasting” or temporarily starving oneself will help cut off the toxins being continuously consumed but also give the body a chance to expel the body of such substances.
Though not often supported by healthcare professionals, starvation is thought to force the body to use up the stored fat cells, which often contain stored toxins as well that are very harmful to the body. The cons of a starvation routine might cause your body to acquire a “famine response.” Meaning if you body indicates a scarcity of calories or food, it kicks in to protect itself from being starved in the future. It does several things such as slow down your metabolism and it stores fat more quickly. A future dieting or starvation techniques may also weaken you immune system and have a negative impact on normal body function.
Though cleansing may be good in the short term, it is recommended that the dieter or person involved have adequate time to recuperate from a starvation cleanse.
